How Sustainability is Passion
Jovanne moved to Baler after graduating from Architecture in UP Diliman back in 2015. Her passion for the ocean goes beyond surfing or the spirit of simplicity—it's a place where she strongly resonates with.
She started Ocean Care Movement to raise environmental awareness on keeping the ocean clean. A new initiative with a big dream, the organization believes that everyone can do their part to help save the waters.
In line with the organization, Jovanne considered designing buildings conceptualized with sustainability, and not just aesthetics. She passionately lives up to her tagline, #DesignWithPurpose.
How She Became An Architect
EARTH Designs grew since 2015. Given its name, EARTH: Evolving Architecture through Refining Tradition and Habitation, simply means that living sustainably also means that tracing back to our lineage is an advantage to repurpose its ancient methods of construction and design.
Jovanne also grew interest in bamboo architecture and construction during a bamboo building workshop in Bali, Indonesia conducted by Ibuku in 2015. As soon as she resided near the ocean, sustainability had always been a primary concept of her designs to take advantage of the fresh breeze, natural light, and open spaces.
Design+Build has usually been a package to offer, to be able to provide informed decisions in addressing the operational energy performance requirements of projects when designing, constructing, and operating projects.
